About James N. Selvidge

That's Obscene

James N. Selvidge has shown what one person can do in fighting obscenity. From WWII to 1966, Seattle, Washington was the XXX film production site in America, a multi-multi-million dollar industry. In 1964, Selvidge sued the City of Seattle and the Seattle City Council challenging the constitutionality of the four City Ordinances that created the "industry". He won. The City appealed. In 1966, the Supreme Court ruled 9-0 in his favor. The "industry" was destroyed.

Retired from thirty years in the motion picture industry, Selvidge has authored five books. His E-Mail address and home phone number are available on www.foreignfilminamerica.com for those who wish more information. He is available Noon to 9PM, Pacific time.
